About the Ball |
|
The Freemasons of Ottawa and region will be holding their 7th Annual Valentine’s Charity Ball on February 12, 2011. Approximately 320 people will attend this event at the Centurion Hall on Colonnade Road.
The proceeds of the Silent Auction will be divided equally and donated to the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation and Families Living with Breast Cancer; the designated Charities of Ottawa Districts 1 and 2 respectively. The 2010 Ball contributed $7,000 to that year’s D.D.G.M. designated charities ($3500 each). We anticipate the Silent Auction will generate even greater returns this year.
Ticket prices cover the direct costs of the event, and provide a small margin, which is donated to the charities. The major revenue generator, however, is the Silent Auction, the total proceeds of which are also donated to the specified charities. Under no circumstances will proceeds from the silent auction be used to subsidize the costs of the ball.
The donors of items provided for the Silent Auction are clearly identified, as is the suggested retail price of the item. Donors, and a description of the items contributed to the Silent Auction, will also be detailed on our web site. Minimum bids are set at 50% of the retail value, and most items are won by individuals bidding amounts in excess of the full retail value. Following the event, donors will be advised as to the amount ultimately collected for items donated.
Please contact the undersigned if you have any questions or require further information about the Silent Auction which may help enable your donation.
Of course, we will be happy to arrange delivery or pickup of your donation as required. |
